Bike Week 100 - A celebration of Cycling in the UK

Cycling UK, the renowned cycling charity, has officially unveiled its highly anticipated program for Bike Week 2023. The annual celebration of all things cycling is set to take place from June 10th to June 18th and promises a thrilling array of events and activities for cyclists of all ages and skill levels.

Bike Week, organized by Cycling UK since 1923, aims to inspire people across the United Kingdom to embrace the numerous benefits of cycling, including improved health, reduced pollution, and enhanced connectivity. This year’s edition features an impressive lineup of initiatives designed to engage communities and promote cycling as a sustainable mode of transportation.

The week-long extravaganza will feature various activities, including group rides, workshops, bike maintenance sessions, and educational programs. With the overarching theme of promoting cycling for all, Bike Week 2023 offers opportunities for both experienced riders and those new to cycling.

Cycling UK has partnered with local cycling clubs, organizations, and government bodies to ensure a diverse range of events across the nation. From family-friendly rides to challenging routes for seasoned cyclists, there will be something for everyone during Bike Week.

Participants can look forward to exciting events such as guided cycling tours exploring scenic routes, cycling festivals celebrating the joy of riding, and community-led initiatives to encourage cycling as a daily mode of transport. In addition, Cycling UK will organize bike-themed competitions, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills and win exciting prizes.

Bike Week 2023 also aims to promote the importance of sustainable infrastructure and active travel policies. Cycling UK will collaborate with local authorities to advocate for safer cycling infrastructure and the implementation of policies that prioritize cyclists’ safety.

To make this year’s Bike Week even more accessible, Cycling UK plans to offer virtual events and resources for those unable to attend in person. Virtual workshops, webinars, and online tutorials will enable people from all corners of the UK to participate and learn more about cycling.

Sarah Mitchell, Chief Executive of Cycling UK, expressed her enthusiasm for Bike Week 2023, stating,
